This song has been on my mind since it entered it. I’ve been feeling depressed and hopeless about the latest march of White nationalism fascism, and feeling worried for others trying to keep their heads up. I had fun making the video while looking and leaning out the car window on a long drive through the mountains the other day, and sending it to loved ones.

Then I found out that Bandcamp (a cool DIY music platform) is being great and giving away all the proceeds from sales today (Friday) to the Transgender Law Center (more info at www.avclub.com/article/get-involved-internet-bandcamp-raising-money-trans-258851), and this seemed a perfect way to be a part of it.

So, whatever you buy from me today, they’ll give away their cut, and I will too. The song may well be re-recorded someday (and it’s really easy if anyone wants to cover it, and in my dreams it’s a global uplift pop hit), and this bedroom demo is perfect right now.

I've always thought gender lines to be as illusory and damaging as all the other lines. When asked, I always say my preferred pronoun is It. I'm well aware that in real-world terms of how I'm perceived, I'm a Straight White CIS guy, and I don't take those privileges for granted, and I'm interested in dismantling the systems that said privileges come from. That said, I'm a sensitive, playful, pansensual creature, and I want everyone to feel and be safe and happy in whatever skin they're in. Love to all. Don’t give up.
